Reflecting His Glory...

'All I need is You, Lord...'

    -- Hillsong United

God is good. In everything, He is making Himself known. Joy and I recently watched a great DVD bible study series by Louie Giglio & Andy Stanley called 'History'. It wasn't anything that I expected, but that was fine. The 4-part message brought forth a powerful truth displayed in the Word of God, and that is that all glory belongs to God and we are to be mirrors reflecting that glory. Through all circumstances in each of our lives, we have an opportunity to allow the glory of the Lord to shine before men and be a testimony of His great love. All the ups and downs, the good times and the bad... God wants to make Himself evident in our lives; not just to us, but to others observing our life.

It really makes you think about things, huh?

Well, these past couple weeks have been so wonderful. Last night, Mike and I attended the Dream Team's graduation. It was so awesome, just knowing where these kids are coming from, to see such a wonderful accomplishment achieved in their lives. Their passion for ministry, and ultimately the Lord, is an inspiration to my own life. Our prayer is that the Lord opens more doors for us to minister to/with the Dream Team in the near future.

Last week, we hosted an all-day men's conference for the 3 Calvary Chapels here in the Western Cape (us, CC Cape Town, and CC Kommetjie). It is always an awesome thing to lead a group of men, on fire for Jesus, in a time of worship. It's like the army of the Lord rising up in your midst... very powerful. Praise God for men that have a desire to follow after God's word and live a life that testifies that.

We also had quite a breakthrough on the farm this past week. A woman from the church came along with, and helped with some translating (English to Afrikaans). The kids were able to really grasp the story (the Good Samaritan) and it was great to see a real connection be made.

Unfortunately, the father of 2 of the boys on one of the farms passed away earlier that day. The boys, Lionel and Hendrico, are very close to our hearts. Hendrico has one of the biggest smiles imaginable. Please keep their family in prayer as they deal with such a loss.

Please also pray that God would continue to open doors. We are seeing so many 'divine' appointments come our way each day... it is amazing! We thank you for your prayers and support. God bless!

Welcome to South Africa!

They are here! Mom and Pop in beautiful Paarl at Ruitersvlei,
where we minister to the farm workers children.

What a blessing it was to greet Mom and Pop at Cape Town International, along with Barry, Teri, Bryce, Sarah, Loren and JD. We had been looking forward to this time together with family and friends and were excited to have them share in our ministries with us.

The rest of the team from CCT continued onto Malawi where the Lord did an amazing work through them, while Papa and Grandma stayed with us in Paarl. We had an opportunity to show them around the Western Cape, this beautiful land we have been called to. We also got a chance to bring them along to all the different ministry opportunities we have throughout the week. So, the last few weeks have been busy to say the least, very eventful.

We hope that you all are doing great and looking forward to warmer weather. We are just breaking out the heaters and hot water bottles for the beds. Lots of love and blessings!
