And they're off!

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." James 1:17

We felt a little like horses in a race once January came around, just waiting for the gates to open. It has been a great start for 2008. We are so grateful for all that God has blessed us with, it could only be from Him. We are all in agreement that the Picardie Guest Farm and the hospitality shown to us from Lana & Louie (the owners) is a
gift from the Lord. It is both an exciting time and a time of patience as we wait upon the Lord to use this venue for His glory!

It was a wonderful day when we picked up the new Calvary Chapel Paarl Valley banner and the outreach cards with the logo and service times on them. We couldn't wait get out there and use these tools to invite people to Sunday morning service.

It has been such a blessing to be at Picardie, surrounded by God's beautiful work. The kids get to enjoy their outdoor Sunday school class with plenty of room to explore, it was only fitting to teach them about creation the first week. To top it off, there is air
conditioning in the room we meet in! That is much appreciated in the brutal heat of Paarl's summer days.

Prayer and the Lord's will have been heavy on our hearts in this new season, as it always should be. There has been an extra sense of urgency to just rest in God's plan for our lives and to be in constant daily prayer over this country. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening we experience black outs from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. This is said to be the pattern for the next 5 years. So, with the lights out, the sun down, and Emerson asleep,
I think that God has purposely placed aside any other distractions to just talk with Jesus. Pretty cool!

Anson's mom blessed Joy with a through the year devotional
called "Voices of the Faithful" by Beth Moore. We would like to encourage all of you to pick up a copy as it is filled with testimonies from missionaries around the world. It has been encouraging and eye opening each day. It's still early enough in the year to get started at the beginning too.

We always, always love to hear from you and would love to
know how you are doing and what the Lord has shown you lately. We serve an awesome God!

Blessings & Love,
  The Sexton's

Hi Anson,Joy & Emerson!

It brings tears of joy to me to see that you all have adjusted so well over there and that your relationship with God has seemed to reach a whole new level! It's been a transitional time for me in my life as I am returning up to the Northwest next week...which I have been apprehensive about. Reading your blog this morning has definately inspired me though, and encouraged my faith.
Wondering if you guys have a church in Portland? I hope so ;)

Love you all & you're in my prayers!

Hi my precious friends,
How amazing God is!! He has provided a venue for you to meet in and with A/C!!! What a blessing and answer to prayer. I have been reading Pastor Chuck's new book on Prayer - Our Glorious Privilege. It's awesome! And it is taking my prayer life to another level. It's a must read. I will send you one. Am I allowed to do that? I will check with your mom. Emerson and Michael have changed so much and are just adorable. We all love you and are praying for you. You have a birthday coming up Joy. Hope it's as amazing as only our Father in heaven can make it! A big hug from all the Neumanns to you all.
Bless you,
Teri
